1. RE: Evaluation feedback for first visitors to the Bay Area Vineyard...

Well, that was a long time ago. Does the bible study count? What I did notice first was the desire of everyone to worship God and the genuine fellowship from everyone to everyone. There was everyone from babies to grand-parents there, I like that. What I liked best were the genuine hearts and reverence for God. My overall impression was that I was at home with my brothers and sisters!

It was a very long time ago for me also. I first noticed how at home everybody felt, even though it was the first "official" meeting in the church (country club). The music looped me in and instantly I was hooked and I knew this was what I needed. And Darren, yes, the Bible study counts, totally. Many times that's the first place people go to, before going into a "church".

The thing I noticed even before coming was a wonderful focus on ministry with nothing expected in return. First, my sons were welcomed to join in a mission trip even though we were members of a different church at the time. Then I was invited to a Christmas tea, again with NO expectation other than to share a wonderful time. Then I was encourage to attend Begin Again, which SAVED MY LIFE! After that BAV offered to put a work day together to come help scrape and paint our church!!! I had never seen Christ so selflessly represented. And all that was before I ever came to a single service! By the time I came to my first service I knew I was "home". On top of the warm welcome the sermon was relevant, "meaty" but still digestable. There was no condemnation. Nothing but welcome and a desire to share Jesus. Do you find this valuable? |
