Worship Song Ideas

I am going to start another super low tech way for our church folks to throw their 2-bits in re. worwship songs(new). Several people have asked me if they could suggest a song they would like us to include in our worship. I am all for this as long as we have agreement on the songs' viability for both our teams'instrumentation/and or ability, and the worthiness of the song for worship. To implement this I think a suggestion style box some where would work pretty good........ Whachathink? Gus

Sure, this would be a good way for people to suggest worship songs. Please just respond to let us know and if you have a link to the sheet music please post it as well.

The suggestions may be overwhelming in number. I think that we have to realize that there is no pressure to work any song into the playlist. These are suggestions only.Isn't this just so fun?(giggle giggle) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

One can only hope for such a rsponse,,,as long as they understand 2 things ,,,,,1 worship leaders are the only ones who can approve/reject songs. 2 their chances are better if written o a c note!!!!! Ha Ha

I made a new page called "Worship Songs". Then we can make a pages below it. Lets always try to get the art, song info and lyrics like I did with, "Mighty To Save".

I know the vineyard model is to sing praises "to" God, and less "about" God, ie: older hymns. I get the premis, but sometimes I think being too much a stickler on such an idea is "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" so to speak. I have really loved when the worship team has played songs like Amazing Grace - My Chains are Gone. It wouldn't do to only due the older songs but I sure love it when they are sprinkled in! Cheezypoofs comment on Jars of Clay reminded me of their version of "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "It Is Well" off their Redemption Songs CD. I have the CD if you aren't familiar with them.

I have this song on a self titled album put out by Brentwood Music in 1995. The Lyrics start as follows:Dear God, surround me as I speak. The bridges that I walk across are weak. Frustrations fill the void that I can't solely bear. Dear God, don't let me fall apart. You've held me close to you. I have turned away and searched for answers I can't understand. Chorus: They say that I can move the mountains and send them falling to the sea. They say that I can walk on water if I would follow and believe with faith like a child.
